Cashier, Cage Part Time
About The Position
The Cage Cashier is responsible for redeeming gaming tickets/TITOs and sports wagering vouchers, conducting check-cashing and cash-advance transactions, and placing sports wagers for guests while helping ensure a favorable gaming experience. The role also supports player accounts, casino promotions, tournaments, and other guest needs. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain valid Kentucky gaming/racing and Race and Sportsbook Employee licenses. The work involves circulating through assigned areas, including smoking areas, and observing players and gaming machines. The work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license and a Race and Sportsbook Employee License.
- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Able to perform the physical requirements described, including sitting or standing, walking, using hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and potentially lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of cashiering or banking experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Cash customers out, provide correct change, and answer questions courteously and professionally.
- Place sports wagers and redeem sports wagering vouchers for cash.
- Accurately count and record assigned funds and exchange funds throughout the shift.
- Keep the cash drawer balanced and impressed, and make exchanges with the vault as necessary.
- Verify and document personal identification information for check-cashing and cash-advance transactions.
- Complete CTRs, W2Gs, and MTLs.
- Maintain positive customer relations and help ensure guests have a favorable gaming experience.
- Fill in as a Main Banker when necessary.
- Track and issue player cards for new and existing accounts.
- Redeem account points for patrons for cash or prizes.
- Assist with weekly and large-scale gaming tournaments, including registration.
- Greet guests, explain the casino, distribute coupon books, issue Oak Grove Players Cards, handle special coupons, and provide other assistance.
- Help ensure the safety and security of guests and Team Members.
- Assist with setup, teardown, execution, and announcing for promotions and special events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
