About The Position

Perform a variety of accounting duties with emphasis on cash receipts and accounts receivable; exercising independent judgment in accordance with established policies, procedures, and/or government regulations ensuring all applicable deadlines are met; while assisting in other areas of the Business Office as needed.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Demonstrate ability to work with various constituencies of the college community and a diversified population of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency using a personal computer with knowledge of Excel and other spreadsheets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with teams.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the mission, goals, and objectives of the College.
  • An associate’s degree in accounting, business administration and/or related field
  • Three years of accounting and office experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and reconcile all monetary deposits to ensure accurate and timely processing into appropriate college bank accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain receipts for all college funds
  • Verify proper posting of all daily transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile college account receivable records.
  • Maintain and properly account for petty cash funds.
  • Prepare, document, and maintain daily cash analysis for audit purposes.
  • Prepare charge forms for processing third-party reports and Pell distribution
  • Assist in preparation of outgoing mail and processing incoming mail for the College.
  • Attend training and conferences as necessary to remain current and as determined by management.
  • Actively participate in staff development workshops, and staff meetings
  • Maintain clean, organized work area at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
