About The Position

The Cash Analyst applies incoming payments to customer accounts for the local TV station business. The role reviews and applies wire transfers and checks, reconciles payments, resolves discrepancies and unapplied payments, and maintains accurate cash records. The analyst works with collections, treasury, and local stations, and participates in month-end close, audits, and accounts receivable projects. This is an onsite assignment in Nashville, Tennessee, scheduled for 40 hours per week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, five days per week. The assignment is nine months, with hourly pay of $24. Employment is W-2.

Requirements

1–2 years of accounting or accounts receivable experience.
Experience with or knowledge of checks, wire transfers, and payment remittance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

Oracle or other ERP experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Review wire transfers and checks received for local TV stations and apply payments to customer accounts and the correct invoices in coordination with the collections team.
Reconcile tax withholding certificates and resolve unapplied payments in a timely manner.
Create credit and debit memos to adjust accounts receivable for chargebacks, refunds, and incorrectly posted cash.
Process manual credit card, wire, and over-the-counter deposits.
Post sundry receivables deposited to the miscellaneous lockbox.
Prepare the daily cash received report and balance and maintain daily cash receipts accounts.
Record journal entries to the general ledger.
Work with the treasury team to identify unknown wire transfers.
Participate actively in month-end close.
Help stations with requests for check backup and research and resolve station inquiries.
Support special accounts receivable projects.
Prepare ad hoc internal and external audit reports and participate in audits.
