About The Position

The Casework Technician provides casework support to Rehabilitation Counselors in the Robeson County, Lumberton unit office. The position supports counselor caseloads and the office’s administrative needs, requiring knowledge of community resources and local employers and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. The role assists people with disabilities through rehabilitation and independent living services and supports their progress toward suitable employment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years of related administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency in routine administrative and office support functions, including data entry, document preparation, scheduling, and filing, with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to provide effective front-line public service, respond to inquiries, resolve concerns, and maintain professionalism in diverse, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Interview consumers and gather diagnostic information to help counselors determine eligibility and required rehabilitation or independent living services.
Assist in developing written service plans with consumers and, when applicable, their parents or guardians.
Enter casework information into relevant applications throughout the rehabilitation process.
Prepare authorizations, correspondence, and other documents, and complete related administrative tasks in coordination with the processing assistant.
Monitor consumers’ progress throughout service delivery.
Work with community partners to assist people with disabilities in becoming suitably employed.
Document service delivery and case progress in the case management system according to agency policy.
