About The Position

Dauphin County Children & Youth Services is hiring a full-time Casework Supervisor. This merit hire position supervises professional caseworkers providing casework and case management services in a public child welfare agency. The supervisor oversees and coordinates the team’s daily activities and schedules to ensure adequate case and emergency coverage and effective use of available resources.

The position regularly reviews case records to assess the quality of casework intervention and documentation, timeliness of intervention, provision of resources, safety and permanency, family involvement in planning, and compliance with policies and regulations. The role may involve driving agency or personal vehicles and transporting clients. A valid driver’s license is required, subject to the stated identification exception.

Requirements

• Two years of professional experience in public or private social work.
• A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or another related social science.
• At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, and favorable references are required.
• Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license must be provided within 60 days of hire, unless the stated alternative identification exception applies.
• Applicants interviewed for this position within the last year need not apply.

• Drive agency and personal vehicles from time to time.
• May provide transportation for clients.
