About The Position

The Case Manager is responsible for driving the case forward day-to-day throughout the entire pre-litigation phase, from opening the claim through preparing for negotiation or transition to litigation. The role combines administrative tasks with some legal-adjacent work, under the supervision of the Pre-Litigation Attorney.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3-4 years of experience as a Case Manager in personal injury
  • Experience interviewing clients and witnesses, and handling communication with insurance carriers
  • Experience using a legal CRM (Filevine, Litify, Needles, or similar)
  • Ability to manage a high caseload in an organized manner
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive situations (clients under stress)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring more junior case managers
  • Basic knowledge of liability assessment and case valuation
  • Bilingual Spanish/English

Responsibilities

  • Interview clients, witnesses, and police officers to reconstruct the facts of the accident
  • Contact insurance carriers (both third-party and the client's own) to open and follow up on the claim
  • Investigate the opposing party (policy limits, assets, relevant background)
  • Gather police reports and supporting case evidence
  • Manage the client's medical treatment: review medical reports and recommendations, coordinate appointments, obtain referrals for additional treatment
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with the client throughout the process
  • Keep records updated on medical treatment, bills, deadlines, offers, and liability issues
  • Collaborate with the attorney in gathering and organizing evidence to prepare the demand letter
  • Keep the case organized and up to date in the firm's system/CRM
  • Escalate any major legal decision or negotiation to the supervising attorney as needed
