About The Position
Texas Family Initiative is seeking a full-time Permanency Case Manager to work with vulnerable children and families. The role focuses on achieving permanency for children in the Managing Conservatorship of DFPS. This involves collaborating with biological parents to access services for reunification, or finding alternative permanent family-like settings if reunification is not possible. The position requires conducting home visits, attending court hearings, and working with community stakeholders and CASA. The company emphasizes a passion for working with children and families, flexible work schedules, and making the community safer.
Requirements
- Accredited Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid Driver’s License
- Empathetic, eager to learn, and passionate about helping families succeed during times of crisis.
- Strong advocates who can support parents, caregivers, and children in foster care as they work toward permanency.
Responsibilities
- Support families in foster care aiming to achieve permanency for children in the Managing Conservatorship of DFPS.
- Collaborate with biological parents, helping them access services to reunify with their children.
- Find a safe, permanent family-like setting for children if reunification isn’t possible.
- Conduct home visits.
- Attend court hearings.
- Work with community stakeholders, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), and more to build lasting partnerships with families.
