Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program required; degree in an area of human services preferred.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
  • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
  • Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work up to sixteen (16) hours within a rolling 24 hour period.
  • Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in an area of human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes admission and assessment documentation.
  • Verifies eligibility for Manage Care and Medical Assistance benefits and works closely with appropriate agencies.
  • Has oversight of invitations and mailings to referral sources and families.
  • Participates in and documents case consultations including treatment reviews, red flag meetings, and administrative reviews.
  • Assists in documenting court reports, psychiatric evaluations, and discharge summaries.
  • Maintains regular contact and communicates effectively with parents, juvenile probation officers, case workers, advocates, and members of the client’s treatment team.
  • Facilitates group counseling sessions in accordance with the client's individualized treatment plan.
  • Interacts meaningfully with clients; observes behavior and intervenes appropriately.
  • Assists and participates with the development and implementation of client's treatment plans.
  • Supports the Abraxas Philosophy, Mission Statement, and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
  • Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and provides effective supervision to staff regarding the use of SCM.
