About The Position

The Behavioral Health Case Manager for Treatment Courts provides recovery-focused support to individuals in DUI and Drug Court programs. This position blends clinical coordination with judicial accountability by facilitating case management, rehabilitation groups, and progress monitoring. The Case Manager attends court regularly, tracks UA results and phase movement, and ensures timely and accurate reporting. This position plays a vital part in helping clients build stability, meet their goals, and successfully complete the program.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or other related mental health field.
Must meet ODMHSAS and HOPE requirements to receive and maintain Behavioral Health Case Manager II Certification
Required to complete, Therapeutic Options or approved safety training and annual updates.
May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certifications.
In order to provide client transportation, must possess current, valid driver’s license and meet HOPE insurance requirements.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write correspondence, clinical writing/documentation in medical records chart, and completion of court reports as appropriate.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to families, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to present information in a court setting as needed.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to seek out supervisory assistance for additional training when needed and make application of techniques or other skills to meet essential job duties and responsibilities.
Ability to engage clients in distress with empathy, calm presence, and non-judgmental communication
Strong understanding of behavioral health principles, substance use recovery, and trauma-informed care
Ability to engage and motivate clients served in the program with compassion and professionalism
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present clear and concise updates in court settings
Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality in clinical and legal environments
Skills in facilitating group and individual rehabilitation services
Effective time management and organizational skills to manage documentation, deadlines, and client follow-up
Competence in using electronic health records
Critical thinking and problem solving abilities, especially in high-pressure or crisis situations
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of clients and the court systems
Must be comfortable transporting clients and providing services in community based settings

Responsibilities

Provides direct case management services including assessment, service planning, coordination, and monitoring of client progress.
Attends court sessions regularly and provides accurate, ethical updates on client compliance, avoiding disclosure of clinical treatment content.
Tracks and reports client status, including phase progression, UA results, attendance, and engagement in services.
Provides individual and group rehabilitation services to assist with education of symptoms, assistance with coping skills, recovery-oriented supports, problem-solving skills, etc. to meet individualized goals in treatment and to assist in progression with phases of court programs.
Assists clients in accessing housing, employment, healthcare, and community-based services.
Supports development of person-centered recovery plans and assists clients in meeting Treatment Court goals.
Maintains accurate, up-to-date client records including demographics, service documentation, and contact information.
Completes all documentation using collaborative documentation practices, entered the same day of service.
Maintains compliance with agency policies and all regulatory requirements including CARF, DMHSAS, HIPAA, Medicaid, and grant funders.
Monitors client benefit eligibility and assists with enrollment in programs such as Medicaid and Social Security.
Participates in supervision, court team meetings, and ongoing training to support professional development.
Provides transportation to clients as needed using a personal or agency vehicle.
Adheres to agency policy and procedures, as found in the online SharePoint folder. Also adheres to CARF and DMHSAS standards and criteria, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements including Medicaid and HCA regulations.
Supports and promotes a service environment for individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives. Attends annual core competencies training in relationship to individuals with co-occurring disorders or who have experienced trauma in their lives.
Coordinates the needs of clients and family members with resources available, manages referrals and linkage for internal and external resources, and provides client advocacy as needed.
Maintains all necessary documentation needed for the program in which the client participates including but not limited to, information related to court dockets, court reporting, communication of sanctions, etc.
Assist clients in developing an individualized recovery plan that focuses on personal and interactive problems, independent living skill needs, defining goals, and to plan action reflecting interests, abilities, and needs.
