About The Position

As an entry-level team member on Meijer’s Courtesy Team, the Cart Attendant performs retail and customer-service tasks and interacts with customers. The role includes returning carts, maintaining cleanliness, assisting with returns, and working with store service areas and departments. The job profile is not all-inclusive; other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

• Be highly organized and attentive to details.
• Have strong listening and communication skills.
• Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
• Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ferry shopping carts from outside the store back to the store interior.
• Coordinate and collect trash from the parking lot, lawn, and inside the store.
• Safely use snow-removal equipment to remove snow.
• Handle perishable and salvage returns.
• Perform basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Work with the service desk, store entrance, checkout lanes, and parking lot areas.
• Work with Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, and Floral departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
