About The Position

The Echo Trailblazers internship program is designed to provide interns with the confidence, community, and communication skills necessary to succeed in the dynamic world of transportation. As a member of the Echo Global Logistics team, interns will work on real-world projects, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to the goal of simplifying transportation for clients and carriers. This internship offers motivated, self-starting individuals an opportunity to learn, earn, and advance in a growing industry. The Carrier Sales Intern will partner with a Client Representative in the sourcing side of brokerage, establishing relationships to provide cost-effective logistics solutions. Interns will develop strong negotiation and interpersonal skills and will be continuously challenged as they advance their sales skillset throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Must be able to start May 24, 2027 and complete the entire 10 week program.
  • Currently enrolled at a university as a rising senior, with at least one semester remaining after completion of internship.
  • Able to work in our Chicago office 3 days and hybrid 2 days a week.
  • No major or GPA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with your mentor on all duties and projects throughout the summer.
  • Assist in growing a book of business through identifying, sourcing, and developing relationships with prospective clients.
  • Work with your mentor in managing a high volume of outbound phone calls to sell Echo’s transportation solutions, negotiate rates, and service your existing client network.
  • Effectively utilize Salesforce and Echo’s proprietary software to handle daily operational tasks such as client prospecting, invoicing, and tracking shipments.
  • Build relationships with internal departments to ensure Echo is growing with and ahead of industry standards.
  • Opportunity to work on onboarding new and existing carrier accounts onto EchoDrive®, Echo’s web portal and mobile app for carriers.
