About The Position

Universal Windows Direct is seeking 1099 subcontractors for roofing and siding installation. The Installer is responsible for accurately and professionally installing products at job sites according to company procedures and to the customer’s satisfaction. The role also represents and maintains the positive image, brand, and reputation of Universal Windows Direct.

The work includes providing remodeling expertise in windows, doors, siding, and gutters. Because most of the company’s business is windows, replacement-window experience is required. Installers must have at least five years of installation experience, a clean, unmarked vehicle, the tools required for siding installation, and proof of liability insurance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of installation experience.
• At least 5 years of carpentry, trim carpentry, construction, or in-home renovation experience.
• Experience with replacement windows.
• Ability to take accurate measurements using a tape measure, level, and combination square.
• Own equipment and ability to use power tools such as a drill and jigsaw.
• Must have all tools required for siding installation.
• General liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance, or the ability to obtain them; proof of liability insurance is required.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Reliable transportation for safely transporting products to work locations.
• Clean, unmarked vehicle.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install products accurately and professionally at job sites according to company procedures and customer expectations.
• Provide remodeling expertise in windows, doors, siding, and gutters, including replacement windows.
• Maintain a pleasant and professional attitude when interacting with customers.
• Respect customers’ property and leave the work area clean.
• Explain the functionality, care, and upkeep of new installations to customers.
• Accurately complete and submit required paperwork, photos, and other documentation.
• Represent and maintain the company’s positive image, brand, and reputation.
