About The Position

Tomlinson Cannon is hiring a full-time roofing and siding installer for its Iowa City location. This is a year-round position with a temporary layoff in the winter. The company has more than 75 years of experience and is known for delivering quality, timely results. The technician will join a team of professional installers and perform roofing, siding, carpentry, repair, and gutter work.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work on roofs and from tall ladders.
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
• One year of experience with siding, roofing, or carpentry.
• Motivation and self-discipline.
• Ability to communicate with customers.
• Strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry to repair siding, soffit, fascia, trim, roof decking, and trusses.
• Install asphalt, metal, and rubber roofs, including underlayment, drip edge, and ventilation.
• Perform roofing and siding repairs, including troubleshooting and resolving leaks.
• Install and repair fascia board, fascia metal, and soffit.
• Install snow guards.
• Use a metal brake to custom-form fascia metal.
• Assist with seamless gutter and gutter guard installation, gutter repairs, and gutter cleaning.
• Work on pitched roofs and ladders.
• Drive trucks and vans.
• Load trucks with tools and equipment.
• Clean equipment and job sites.
• Ensure equipment in operation meets or exceeds safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
