Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or ability to pass a Combined Basic Skills Assessment Test.

Rail industry experience
Mechanically inclined
Experience in a lean manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

Assisting various plant production personnel performing car repair work involving burning, fitting, grinding, blasting, and painting.
Using a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic tools, jacks, cutting torches, cranes and forklifts proficiently.
Completing tasks that may include changing gaskets, hoses, valves, repairing piping, and pipe fitting.
Acting as a safety watch for tank car entry.
Maintaining area in a neat and orderly manner and reporting work hazards.
Ability to understand and follow UTLX operating procedures and policies based on safety and field training.
Job related knowledge of measuring devices such as rulers.
Understanding of weight volume, and other units of measurements.
Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts.
