About The Position

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, following established nursing care procedures and supervisor direction. The schedule listed is 3 p.m.–11 p.m. and PRN.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent.
Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
Certification in CPR and first aid training.
Documentation of Personal Hygiene training with a nurse instructor.

Nice To Haves

Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse experience.
Completion of a Nursing Assistant certification program.
Experience working with elderly people.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily routines, personal care, and housekeeping tasks.
Report observations and other pertinent information related to resident care.
Support resident care and review care plans daily to identify changes in daily care routines.
Provide input into the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
Participate in identifying staff educational needs.
Conduct oneself professionally and comply with facility policies.
Survey for safety, tidy residents’ rooms daily, remove soiled linens, and change bed linens, towels, and washcloths weekly or as needed.
Encourage and assist residents’ activity participation, lead and conduct activity programs, and document participation.
Respond promptly to resident call lights and address requests appropriately.
Assist with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning the meal area as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of pertinent resident care information.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director.
