About The Position

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care. The role follows established nursing care procedures and is performed as directed by the supervisor. The position is listed for 3 p.m.–11 p.m. and PRN.

Requirements

Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
Must be certified in CPR and have first aid training.
Must have documentation of personal hygiene training with a nurse instructor.

Nice To Haves

Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse experience is preferred.
Completion of a Nursing Assistant certification program is preferred.
Experience working with the elderly is desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily routines, personal care, and housekeeping tasks as needed.
Report observations and other pertinent information related to resident care.
Support care delivered to residents and review care plans daily to identify changes in daily care routines.
Provide input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
Participate in identifying staff educational needs.
Conduct oneself professionally and comply with facility policies.
Check rooms for safety and tidy resident rooms daily.
Remove soiled linens from rooms; change bed linens, towels, and washcloths weekly or as needed.
Encourage and assist residents with activity participation, lead and perform activity programs, and document participation.
Promptly answer resident call lights and respond appropriately to requests.
Assist with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning the meal area as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of pertinent resident care information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director.
