About The Position

The Caregiver provides in-home personal care, homemaking, and companionship services to elderly and/or disabled adults, including adults with developmental disabilities. The role helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and cared for in their homes in Pasco County. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and based in Odessa.

The employer provides training needed for certification, including CPR and First Aid, Alzheimer's/Dementia, and HIV/AIDS certifications. Caregivers are equipped with safety resources and support, and the organization follows CDC safety measures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work with male and female clients.
• Must pass a Level II Background Check; the employer can conduct the check in its office for a cost of $90.
• Must provide proof of a negative tuberculosis (TB) screening; staff can administer a TB skin test on site.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to elderly and/or disabled adults, including adults with developmental disabilities, in their homes.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor client safety and provide supervision in the home.
• Perform light housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and laundry.
• Assist clients with ambulation and transfers.
• Assist with arranging transportation to medical appointments and running errands.
• Shop for groceries and assist with online shopping.
• Prepare meals.
• Provide companionship.
• Assist clients with their personal goals.
• Provide friendly medication reminders.
