About The Position

Preferred Care at Home of Monmouth and Ocean County is seeking compassionate and reliable individuals to join our team as Fill-in Caregivers. In this role, you will provide temporary, flexible support to our clients in need of personal care and companionship. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities by ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve in the comfort of their own homes. As a Fill-in Caregiver, you will be called upon to fill in for regular caregivers, helping to maintain consistency and quality of care during their absence. Requirements

  • Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; we provide thorough training and ongoing support.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping others and building meaningful relationships.
  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions carefully while maintaining independence and good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to client homes in Toms River and surrounding areas.
  • Background check clearance and any required certifications in line with state regulations.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on client needs.
  • Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light housekeeping tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized in-home care tailored to each client's unique needs, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation among our clients.
  • Ensure safety and comfort within the client’s home by monitoring their environment and reporting any concerns or changes in condition to the care coordination team.
  • Assist with medication reminders and basic health monitoring as directed by healthcare professionals and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and any noteworthy client observations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and the Preferred Care at Home team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Be available to work on short notice to cover shifts for regular caregivers, demonstrating flexibility and reliability.
