About The Position

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking caregivers to support senior adults and others in need in Eatonton and surrounding communities. The role focuses on compassionate in-home care and companionship, helping clients with daily activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility, personal care, and transportation. Caregivers may also have opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them when they shop.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
