About The Position

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking compassionate At Home Caregivers to support seniors and others in need in Monroe and surrounding communities. The role provides companionship and assistance with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation. Caregivers may also receive opportunities for advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and caregiving.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate manner.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including attending appointments and taking walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
