About The Position

Provide in-home care for clients in Fairfax and McLean, including long-hour overnight and weekend shifts. Caregivers support clients’ daily living, mobility, exercise, household needs, and safety while communicating with families and healthcare providers. Requirements

Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Respectful and compassionate manner and good bedside manner.
Strong communication, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
Physical endurance to complete required tasks.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Dementia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Engage clients in activities that stimulate the mind and spirit.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility inside and outside the home.
Assist with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises.
Complete shopping or accompany clients when needed.
Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete themselves, including meal preparation.
Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members.
Report unusual incidents to nurses, doctors, and family members.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched areas, including changing bed sheets.
