About The Position
Cherished Companions is a locally owned and operated home care agency hiring caregivers to provide personalized in-home support. Caregivers assist clients with daily activities, offer companionship and emotional support, help with meal preparation, household chores and errands, and provide respectful, compassionate care. The agency describes caregivers as employees rather than contract workers and notes that they receive employee protections. The position serves clients in their homes, with particular need in the Chagrin Falls–Solon–Twinsburg area. Shifts are 4–12 hours at $16.00 per hour, with a $1–$2 hourly differential for shifts lasting 2–3 hours. Full-time and part-time hours are available. Overtime, paid travel between clients, and paid training are also offered. Health, dental, vision, 401(k), and company-sponsored life insurance are available after one year of full-time employment.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a valid driver's license and a vehicle.
- Be willing to drive up to 30 minutes to clients’ homes.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Have excellent communication skills, including active listening and empathetic responses.
- Understand the unique needs and challenges faced by patients and families at the end of life.
- Be willing to learn and become a professional caregiver. The employer considers STNAs, HHAs, MAs, PCAs, nursing students, retired nurses, retirees, empty-nesters, and others with a desire to care for others.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities.
- Provide companionship, attentive listening, and emotional support to clients and their families.
- Provide compassionate, personalized care while supporting clients’ comfort, dignity, and peace of mind.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming respectfully and sensitively.
- Prepare meals and help with household chores and errands.
- Offer a positive, reassuring presence and build meaningful connections with clients.
