About The Position
HomeWell Care Services of NWI is hiring compassionate caregivers to provide individualized, non-medical in-home support and companionship to seniors and others who wish to age in place. Caregivers work one-on-one with clients, helping improve their quality of life with empathy, excellence, and integrity. Full-time and part-time options are available. No healthcare certification is required; CNA, HHA, or relevant caregiving experience is preferred.
Requirements
- Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone.
- Proof of a current negative tuberculosis (TB) test, as required by the State of Indiana.
- Physical ability to perform the duties, including lifting, pushing, and pulling approximately 25 pounds.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Compassion for older adults.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Maturity, care, punctuality, and reliability.
Nice To Haves
- CNA or HHA certification, or at least six months of experience caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled people.
- Experience with dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Responsibilities
- Provide social companionship to clients.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including feeding, medication reminders, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide light housekeeping and cleaning, laundry, and cooking or meal preparation.
- Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Offer standby assistance with transfers.
- Provide overnight safety assistance.
- Perform other care as needed.
