About The Position
HomeWell Care Services of NWI is hiring compassionate caregivers to provide one-on-one, non-medical in-home support to seniors and other clients who want to age in place. Caregivers help clients with daily living, companionship, personal care, household tasks, transportation, and safety. Full-time and part-time options are available. Compensation is $16.00–$17.00 per hour.
Requirements
- No healthcare certification is required.
- Have daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone.
- Provide proof of a current negative tuberculosis (TB) test, as required by the State of Indiana.
- Be physically able to perform the duties, including lifting, pushing, and pulling approximately 25 pounds.
- Have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Demonstrate compassion for older adults and excellent communication skills.
- Be mature, caring, punctual, and reliable.
Nice To Haves
- CNA or HHA certification, or at least six months of experience caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled people.
- Experience providing dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Responsibilities
- Provide social companionship.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including feeding and medication reminders, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide light housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, and cooking or meal preparation.
- Transport clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Provide standby assistance with transfers.
- Provide overnight safety assistance.
- Provide other care as needed.
