About The Position

Grandhaven Senior Living is seeking compassionate Caregivers to support residents at its senior assisted living community in the Lansing area. The role involves providing personal care and daily living assistance, helping residents with mobility and prescribed medication, preparing meals, completing household tasks, and responding responsibly to emergencies. Candidates should be supportive, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality care.

Requirements

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and be eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform job-related duties.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day.
• Demonstrated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
• Availability to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
• At least one year of experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment.
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or experience as a Caregiver, CNA, or HHA, or completion of a CNA program.
• Take pride in providing high-quality care.

Nice To Haves

• Hoyer lift experience, specific to the client.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance, including help with showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
• Support mobility around the home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Assist with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Assist with activities essential to daily living, including serving meals and related tasks.
