About The Position

Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a fun, compassionate, dependable caregiver to help an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve greater independence and quality of life. The caregiver will support a young man with activities of daily living and socialization. He enjoys watching the Game Show Network, coloring, puzzles, word searches, swimming, and neighborhood walks. Experience supporting individuals who have frequent seizures is ideal.

This position is offered on an independent contractor basis, not as company employment, and pays $16.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, either 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., for approximately 25 hours per week. Weekends are not needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass local and Level 2 background screening.
• At least one year of caregiving experience or technical training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Positive outlook and contagious energy.
• Patience and compassion.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with individuals who have frequent seizures.

Responsibilities

• Encourage and support the individual during activities at home.
• Assist with personal hygiene tasks.
• Ensure the individual's safety and maintain a safe living environment.
• Accompany the individual to social events and community outings, such as grocery shopping and appointments.
• Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization.
• Complete daily progress notes.
