About The Position

The Caregiver provides assistance to residents in the Assisted Living Program with activities of daily living, helping them maintain quality of life, dignity, independence, and confidentiality. The role includes supporting residents’ personal care and social and emotional needs, following care schedules established by a supervisor, and documenting assistance provided. The position is part-time with varying shifts and pays $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working in senior care.
• Sufficient English proficiency to perform job duties, communicate with the supervisor and other employees, and respond to and communicate about emergency situations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic, and helpful demeanor.
• Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high-stress situations.
• Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Provide medication reminders and assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow the schedule of residents’ needs established by a supervisor.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Document assistance in a daily log.
• Inform the supervisor of resident issues or concerns.
• Respect and encourage residents’ independence and dignity.
• Respect residents’ confidentiality.
