Caregiver – Dementia | Hoyer Lift
About The Position
TheKey is hiring caregivers to provide one-to-one in-home support to aging adults in Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, and surrounding areas. Available schedules include short shifts across mornings, days, and evenings, with specific assignments on weekdays and weekends. Weekend availability is required. Some clients need dementia care, Hoyer lift assistance, hospice support, catheter care, bedbound-client support, mobility assistance, or transportation to outings. The listed pay rate is $20–$23 per hour, and both full-time and part-time work are available. Caregivers assist clients with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. TheKey describes its local teams as providing caregiver support and a high-quality in-home care experience for seniors. Applicants must meet California HCA registration and background-screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience.
- Must work weekends.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- California HCA registration, which TheKey can help obtain upon hire, and compliance with state background requirements.
- Valid driver's license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle.
- TB clearance or chest X-ray.
- Applicants must meet applicable fingerprint identification and background-screening requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Saturday or Sunday availability is highly preferred.
- Experience or ability to support dementia care, Hoyer lifts, hospice, and transportation to outings.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients one-to-one with dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.
- Provide basic housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Drive clients to appointments and outings, and run errands and grocery shopping.
- Provide companionship and social and emotional support through activities such as games and puzzles.
- Provide stand-by assistance and hands-on mobility support as needed.
- Perform Hoyer lift operation, catheter care, and support for bedbound clients when required by the assignment.
- Provide dementia and hospice care when required by the assignment.
