Experienced Caregivers Needed – Indianola | Weekend 12-Hour Shifts (8 AM–8 PM)
About The Position
Home Instead is seeking experienced, dependable Care Professionals in Indianola, Iowa, to help older adults live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes. The role provides hands-on personal care and support for older adults, including individuals living with dementia. Caregivers build meaningful one-on-one relationships while providing patient, respectful, and individualized assistance. The position is for consistent weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The starting wage is $17 per hour, with an additional weekend shift premium. Home Instead offers paid orientation and ongoing training, annual performance appraisals, vacation pay, health insurance and a 401(k) with company match subject to eligibility requirements, opportunities for additional hours, and 24/7 on-call support.
Requirements
- Previous hands-on caregiving experience, particularly with personal care, transfers, or dementia support.
- Experience caring for individuals in the later stages of dementia.
- Experience assisting with personal care and mobility needs.
- Availability and commitment to a consistent weekend schedule.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable approach to care.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow individualized care plans.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support client transfers and mobility needs.
- Help older adults safely navigate daily routines.
- Provide patient, respectful, attentive personal care.
- Support individuals in the later stages of dementia using redirection and reassurance techniques.
- Respond calmly to confusion, frustration, and changing behaviors.
- Help create a comforting, consistent environment that supports clients’ dignity and trust.
- Follow individualized care plans.
- Work consistent Saturday and Sunday shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
