About The Position

Caregivers at REM West Virginia help people grow, learn, and live well by building meaningful relationships and supporting participants in waiver homes and group homes. The role involves encouraging community participation and favorite activities, and helping individuals work toward developmental goals such as budgeting, dental hygiene, exercise, and nutrition. Caregivers support people with varied needs, including autism and related conditions. Assisted living duties include helping with personal hygiene and supporting individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs. The position is part-time and day shift. Pay is $14.75 per hour, with on-demand pay options.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Cooking and cleaning skills.
Ability to assist with personal care, including eating, dressing, bathing, and toileting.
Ability to remain calm and problem-solve in stressful situations.
Patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible demeanor.
Valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance for some positions.

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination is preferred.

Responsibilities
