About The Position

At Hitchcock Square, caregiving means providing daily support while helping residents feel comfortable, supported, and at home. The Caregiver/Personal Care Aide provides hands-on assistance with activities of daily living and builds supportive relationships with residents. This is a PRN position on 3rd shift. Hitchcock Square has partnered with Tapcheck, a mobile app that allows team members to access earned wages before payday.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
A high school diploma or GED is accepted and may be required by state regulations.
Must be willing to obtain an 80-hour personal care training certificate; Navion can provide the training.
Positive attitude, flexibility to perform various duties in service to residents, and ability to work in a team environment.
Dedication to serving seniors and excellent customer service skills.
Ability to make choices and decisions and act in residents’ best interests.
Written and verbal communication skills and an appropriate level of understanding.
Organizational and time management skills.
Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Previous experience working with seniors.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care.
Prepare residents for meals, snacks, and activities.
Assist residents in the dining room, including serving meals and clearing tables.
Respond to the resident emergency call system.
Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ conditions to the Resident Care Coordinator or designee.
Communicate politely and professionally with residents and family members.
Maintain resident care documentation as required by state regulations and Navion Senior Solutions policies and procedures.
Transport residents when required.
