About The Position

PAI is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Individualized Home Supports (IHS) Professional to support people with disabilities in maintaining independence, improving daily living skills, and participating in meaningful activities at home and in the community. This is a part-time position in the White Bear Lake area, with evening and weekend work. The pay rate is $20 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement. Phoenix Alternatives, Inc. (PAI) has served the community since 1990, supporting people with developmental disabilities through a Day Program and an Individualized Home Supports and Respite (IHSR) program. PAI’s culture is respectful and team-oriented, with a focus on the unique needs of the people served. Its mission is to engage individuals in meaningful participation in and connection with the community.

Requirements

High school degree or GED.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Pass a DHS background study and maintain clearance to provide direct services without continuous supervision.
Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of car insurance, and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Assist with personal care, including hygiene, meals, and medication management.
Facilitate enjoyable and meaningful activities at home and in the community.
Help individuals learn and improve independent-living skills, including budgeting, grocery shopping, and meal planning.
Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and comfortable atmosphere.
Assist with household chores such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
Ensure a safe and secure environment for the individuals supported.
