Caregiver/Home Care Aide
About The Position
Always Best Care Senior Services is hiring skilled personal attendants (caregivers) to support seniors in Alameda County, Contra Costa County, and surrounding areas. Service areas include Oakland, Richmond, Piedmont, Alameda County, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Concord, Contra Costa County, and nearby communities. Virtual interviews are offered. Personal attendants start at $21 per hour. Weekend personal attendants working Saturday and Sunday only start at $24 per hour. Caregivers must be available for daytime, afternoon, and evening work and be willing to work split or stacked shifts, combining 1–4-hour shifts to form full workdays. The role requires travel of up to 25 miles for work.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of caregiving or personal attendant experience.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Willingness to work split or stacked shifts, combining 1–4-hour shifts to form full workdays.
- Ability to travel up to 25 miles for work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass criminal background checks.
- Daytime, afternoon, and evening availability.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- HCA License.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, dressing, walking, grooming, eating, incontinence care, and transfers.
- Assist with the safe use and setup of assistive equipment.
- Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Support clients’ mobility, transfers, and general safety.
- Encourage communication and social engagement.
- Accurately document care tasks.
- Build meaningful relationships while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
