About The Position

This role involves providing instruction in Music Production within a Career Technical Education program. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with district philosophies and student needs, and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students. The position also includes assisting with student supervision, facility and equipment care, record-keeping, and student evaluation. Additionally, the teacher will provide individual assistance to students regarding their studies, personal matters, educational/vocational decisions, and identification of learning disabilities. Continuous professional development through curriculum planning, professional meetings, in-service activities, and performance evaluation is expected. Collaboration with school personnel, parents, and guardians is crucial for fostering student growth and supporting the educational program.

Requirements

  • Willingness to obtain Career Technical Teacher Certification from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Provides instruction in the assigned subject in an atmosphere that implements the philosophies of the district, school and program.
  • Maintains an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.
  • Prepares and maintains a plan of classwork and procedures in order to assure that performance objectives and aims of instruction are being met. Organizes and structures materials for the most effective utilization of time. Plans lessons and implements activities that are congruent with the course of study and the entry level skills of students. Allows for student participation in designing and selecting appropriate classroom instructional activities.
  • Attends to the health, safety and well-being of students.
  • Provides assistance in: Supervision of students in the curricular and co-curricular programs both in and outside the school, The care of facilities and equipment, The preparation of records, reports and student evaluation.
  • Provides individual assistance to students in: Their studies, Their personal matters when appropriate, Educational and/or vocational decision-making, Recognition and referral of learning disabilities.
  • Strives to improve her/his performance as a teacher through: Curriculum planning and development, Professional meetings and visitations, In-service growth activities, Selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials, Writing and implementing annual job targets, Performance evaluation.
  • Enters into interdependence with all school personnel to ensure a climate conducive to the personal growth of each member of the staff and student body.
  • Cooperates with parents or guardians through individual and/or group conferences, parent-teacher organizations and such other meetings as may be advisable.
  • Seeks understanding of and supports the Plain Local educational program.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
