About The Position

Fortis College in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Career Services Advisor to help students and graduates succeed. Fortis provides educational programs that develop career skills for high-demand occupations and support employment after graduation and ongoing professional growth.

The Career Services Advisor is a full-time professional position on the Career Services team and reports directly to the Director of Career Services. The position coordinates and assists with job search and placement for graduates and students, maintains confidential and detailed client and referral records, and delivers or coordinates presentations, workshops, and seminars as appropriate. The Advisor also evaluates and resolves student inquiries, issues, and problems, taking appropriate action to meet the satisfaction of the student, Company, and/or regulatory agencies while complying with policies, procedures, and legal requirements. The role may require some evening and Saturday hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Relevant experience in recruiting, career counseling, or business development.
• Strong technical skills, including computer applications/programs, internet research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask, perform well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude, desire to help others, self-driven nature, confident communication skills, and a results-oriented approach.
• Consistently display the highest level of integrity.
