The Career Coach provides job-readiness training to individuals with disabilities, focusing on the foundational skills needed to obtain and maintain employment in the community. This includes delivering pre-employment and on-the-job training to participants through one-on-one coaching and small group instruction, including services provided through the Transitions to Work Program. This program offers career seekers ages 16â35 hands-on internship opportunities with employer partners such as Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Brockton Hospital, and NewBridge on the Charles. The Career Coach prepares participants for these internships, provides ongoing support throughout the experience, and delivers individualized coaching to support job placement, retention, and career advancement. In addition, the Career Coach trains and advises employer partners on effective strategies for working with individuals with disabilities, develops strong job leads, and provides job placement assistance. This role requires the ability to initiate and sustain collaborative relationships with businesses across the Greater Boston and Greater Brockton areas, a strong understanding ofâor commitment to learning aboutâbarriers to employment, and active participation as part of a larger JVS team supporting employment, training, and education services both in person and virtually.
