About The Position

To facilitate the provision of patient care by performing specific nursing tasks and other support functions in compliance with hospital policy and procedures as delegated by licensed nursing personnel. This role requires working 4 shifts a month, with at least one shift on the weekend. Pre-employment requirements include passing a drug screening. The position is in an Inpatient Rehab Unit and is PRN (as needed) for day shifts.

Requirements

• Must be certified in Alabama.
• Validation of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to validate CNA certification.
• BLS completion within 90 days of hire date.
• If currently enrolled in a nursing program, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing is a requirement.
• Must be able to work 2 full 12-hour shifts per schedule.
• Must be willing to take 2 on-call shifts per schedule.
• Must be able to arrive no later than 6:30 a.m. and be available to work every other weekend.
• Must be dependable, hardworking, and a team player with a good attitude and professional behavior.

Nice To Haves

• Rehab experience preferred but not required.
• Will consider Medical Assistant and teach bedside care.
• Will consider Paramedic/EMT experience and teach bedside care.
• Will consider care technician applicant with at least 3 years of recent patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of Nurse Managers, RN’s and LPN’s.
• Provides for personal care, comfort, and assures patient safety.
• Applicants will be responsible for vital signs, assisting nursing personnel, and helping patients with basic daily needs.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
• Other duties as assigned.
