About The Position

This is a 60% FTE position with 8/12 Day/Evening Shifts and a weekend and holiday rotation per unit. Hours may vary based on operational needs of the department. The role is located at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. This position is eligible for shift and weekend differentials. The Care Team Leader will join the newest unit at the American Family Children’s Hospital, a 9-bed unit caring for children from infancy through adolescence with a wide variety of complex medical and surgical problems. Responsibilities include motivating and leading nursing staff, collaborating with the interprofessional team, analyzing and resolving problems, and mentoring others.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in an inpatient unit
  • 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population
  • National certification in relevant specialty

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
  • Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.
  • Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
