About The Position

This is a 60% FTE position for a Care Team Leader in a NEW inpatient pediatric general medical/surgical unit at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. The unit will care for children from infancy through adolescence with a wide variety of complex medical and surgical problems. The role involves motivating and leading nursing staff, collaborating with the interprofessional team, analyzing and resolving problems, and mentoring staff to grow professionally.

Requirements

2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit Required
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
Current CPR/BLS certification Required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred
National certification in relevant specialty Preferred

Responsibilities

Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.
Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
