About The Position

This is a 90% FTE position working 8/12 Day/Evening Shifts with a weekend and holiday rotation on a NEW inpatient pediatric general medical/surgical unit at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. The unit has 9 beds and will care for children from infancy through adolescence with a wide variety of complex medical and surgical problems, including General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, ENT, Urology, Plastics, Orthopedics, other surgical specialties, and medical observation (OBS). The Care Team Leader will motivate and lead nursing staff, collaborate with the interprofessional team, analyze and resolve problems outside the nurse clinician's domain, and mentor others. This position is eligible for shift and weekend differentials.

Requirements

2 years experience in an inpatient unit
2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
Current CPR/BLS certification

Nice To Haves

3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit
Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population
National certification in relevant specialty
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)

Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.
Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
