About The Position

Join our remarkable highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary team, to provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families in this state-of-the art 21-bed unit. Provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems. Problems include: acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO. Provide high quality care to complex cardiac conditions. Including complex congenital heart defects, Ventricular Assisted Devices, and heart transplant.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in an inpatient unit
  • 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Pediatric ICU (PICU)- PALS within 180 Days

Nice To Haves

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing
  • 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population
  • National certification in relevant specialty

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
  • Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.
  • Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
