About The Position

The Care Team Assistant works in the Acute Medical Unit, reporting to the Health Services Manager and working under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals. The role provides direct, hands-on care based on patient and unit needs. As part of the collaborative care team, the Care Team Assistant supports patients with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, and reinforces patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care.

Requirements

Continuing Care Assistant Program Provincial Certification with the Department of Health and Wellness.
Must submit certification and be registered and active with the CCA Registry.
Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Demonstrates effective listening skills.
Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

Competencies in other languages are an asset; French is preferred.
Where there are no applicants with provincial certification, candidates eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam may be considered if they obtain certification within one year from their date of hire.
