Organization: VUH Inpatient Float Pool Job Summary: Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The VUH Adult Float Pool is in need of nightshift Care Partners to join our team! The position will be located at our VUH Adult Hospital in Nashville. Shift Available: Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week) Shifts do rotate throughout the week with a weekend requirement Note: Set schedules are not available. Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs Night shift employees are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment, which encompasses Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), OR
Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), OR
Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
2+ years of recent (within the last 6 months) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
Current experience in Med/Surg and/or ICU.

Responsibilities

Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assists with day to day delivery of patient care.
Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.
Administer Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Take and record vital signs
Perform lab draws
Conduct acute checks
Place Foley catheters and perform straight catheterizations
Assist with wound care
