About The Position

Job Purpose Manage ministry to spiritual and physical needs of uninsured and underserved patients, ensuring those who are traumatized experience YUGM’s ministries as a sanctuary prepared by God for their healing and restoration, resulting in permanent and measurable life transformation. This non-clinical position will oversee the daily operation of a free medical clinic and charitable dental clinic and requires a person skilled in organization of people & processes. Primary job duties include organizing various learners, managing of medical donations, managing volunteer providers and support staff, and ensuring patient/client care in fulfillment of our mission, vision, and values. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Effective time management and planning skills with a proven ability to meet goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and basic data entry skills.
  • Experience working with those experiencing poverty and/or homelessness.
  • Demonstrated work ethic aligned with YUGM’s Core Values of Love, Professionalism, and Outcomes.
  • Conversant in Spanish.
  • Valid WDL, good driving record, proof of insurance.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining safety and positive ministry environment.
  • Demonstrated love for needy persons.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Highly organized and task-oriented during chaos.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote YUGM’s Christian beliefs and behaviors, core values, policies, and procedures with a high-level of integrity.
  • Develop professional, caring, strength-based relationships built on truth, respect, encouragement, and trust.
  • Provide ministry and show kindness and grace to staff, volunteers, clients, donors, and the community.
  • Support initiatives that foster a culture of services, compassion, and faith within the workplace.
  • Engage opportunities to pray for individuals, departments, strategic plans and other YUGM needs.
  • Communicating and collaborating openly with the goal of continually improving our guest experience of YUGM’s Christian message and ministries.

  • Supporting department managers and directors in solving departmental problems and accomplishing the shared goal of following Christ in helping people move from homelessness to wholeness.
  • Understanding that a team is best understood as parts to one whole, and that “having gifts that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them” (Romans 12:6a) and that running a team means understanding each gift and utilize it to the strength of the team as a whole.
  • Internally, working as part of the Client Services team, and with other YUGM departments, communicating and collaborating openly with the goal of continually improving patient/client experience and services offered.
  • In addition, working closely with the volunteer department to schedule, train and supervise volunteers in the Care Center.
  • Assist the Director of Care Center Ministries in cultivating community resources and develop these resources as they relate to patient care.
  • Working as a member of the YUGM Leadership Team to solve organizational problems, meet program needs, and accomplish shared goals in pursuit of strategic priorities.
  • Serve YUGM and the Yakima Valley as an expert on treating individuals with high levels of childhood trauma, including assisting in staff development, public communication and relations.
  • Counteract the spiritual lies told by our guests’ childhood abuse, neglect and trauma by making our Care Center a sanctuary of Christian hospitality in which every person is treated as being made in the Image of God (Gen 1:26-27), loved by God (Ps 138:6), and sought by Christ (Lk 19:10).
  • Ensure that Care Center staff know our guests at a personal level so that they experience respect and dignity throughout our efforts to promote their spiritual development. The staff are responsible for offering guests assistance with scripture, prayer, pastoral care, and evangelism.
  • Remind staff that our guests were not kept safe as children, making it essential that we show our guests that God is trustworthy and capable of keeping them safe!
  • Remember that as children our guests often had no support, making it essential that you respond to various emergencies, using your training and available technologies to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff. Work with emergency services when required for medical reasons or in response to criminal activity. We must show guests that God sees them & cares!
  • Ensure a safe, dignifying and uplifting physical and interpersonal environment for daily Care Center functions, utilizing a culture of relational and client-centered care rather than relying on motivation by rewards/punishments.
  • Organize and schedule providers and support staff alongside Front Office Manager.
  • Oversee input, as well as review and reporting, of labs and imaging. Input is coordinated by the Front Office Manager, and review and reporting is done by clinic providers. This position will ensure both aspects function efficiently.
  • Oversee ordering and managing of clinic supplies along with Medical Assistant.
  • Run staff meetings in accordance with other Care Center leaders.
  • Assist the Director of Care Center Ministries in data collection.
  • Assist the Director of Care Center Ministries in preparation for Mental Health Clinic services.
  • Onboard volunteer providers with EHR log in, clinic tour, and patient flow.
  • Solve daily clinic problems as they arise.
  • Interpersonal communication with volunteers and staff.
  • Continually seek ways of improving clinic function and efficiency in utilization of volunteers, staff, and resources.
  • Communicate clinic updates and happenings to volunteers and staff as needed and on at least a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate learners of various skills (RN, medical student, pre-med, PT).
  • Ensure learners have schedule that best supports clinic as well as learners needs.
  • Ensure learners have appropriate oversight.
  • Maintain practice agreements with professional student programs.
  • Update providers with schedule changes related to learner availability.
  • Recruit teachers of learners both within our staff and volunteers as well as within community
  • Maintain schedule for Monday night student run clinic.
  • Oversee transport of donations to medical processing.
  • Oversee processing of donations using ThriftTrac, to include training volunteers as needed.
  • Oversee organizing of processed donations into storage room.
  • Maintain appropriate amount of stock for items used along with Medical Assistant.
  • Oversee disposal of supplies unused from clinic.
  • Communicate supply needs to YUGM departments and outside community.
  • Ensure that accurate and timely written measures and records for clinic management are maintained that conform to industry best practices and support continuous improvement.
  • Manage clinic responsibilities including calendaring, documentation, data and metrics reporting, space management, etc.
  • Maintain scheduled office hours for the purposes of leading, managing, and coaching.
  • Attend, as requested or required, all YUGM trainings and meetings scheduled by the management team to keep current on any policy changes, new procedures, and other information essential to performing the job.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of YUGM's mission and values.
