About The Position
The Care Associate provides assistance to residents in the Memory Care Program with activities of daily living, helping them maintain a quality life and their dignity. The role includes offering companionship and support, encouraging independence through assistance and restorative interventions, and contributing to residents’ daily routines and activities. The Care Associate also supports mealtimes, laundry, and basic housekeeping in the memory care neighborhood, while responding to resident, family, and employee concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Acceptable English proficiency to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and respond to and communicate about emergency situations.
- Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Compassionate, kind, engaging, and helpful demeanor.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with seniors with dementia, including participating in activities, is preferred.
- A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.
Responsibilities
- Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
- Assist, encourage, and provide restorative interventions to Memory Care residents to promote independence with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Participate in and lead individual and group activities.
- Serve residents during mealtimes.
- Assist with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood.
- Respond to resident, family, and employee concerns in a timely manner and follow up to support customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and coworkers.
