About The Position

The Care Associate/PSS provides assistance to residents in the Memory Care Program with activities of daily living, supporting residents’ quality of life and dignity. The role offers all shifts: 6:30 a.m.–3 p.m., 2:30 p.m.–11 p.m., and 10:30 p.m.–7 a.m.

The position includes providing companionship and support, assisting residents with personal care and mobility, participating in and leading activities, serving residents at mealtimes, helping with laundry and basic housekeeping in the memory care neighborhood, and responding to resident, family, and employee concerns. Team members are expected to maintain a positive, professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and coworkers.

Requirements

• Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and other employees, and respond to and communicate during emergency situations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Compassionate, kind, engaging, and helpful demeanor.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with seniors with dementia, including participating in activities, is preferred.
• A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
• Assist, encourage, and provide restorative interventions to Memory Care residents as needed, supporting independence with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
• Serve residents during mealtime.
• Assist with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood.
• Ensure resident, family, and employee concerns receive timely responses and follow-up.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and coworkers.
