About The Position

The Care Associate provides assistance to residents in the Memory Care Program with activities of daily living, helping them lead a quality life while maintaining their dignity. The role includes providing companionship, support, encouragement, and restorative interventions; assisting residents with personal care and mobility; participating in and leading activities; and helping with mealtime service, laundry, and basic housekeeping in the memory care neighborhood. The Care Associate also responds to resident, family, and employee concerns and maintains a positive, professional demeanor.

Requirements

• Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and other employees, and respond to and communicate about emergency situations.
• Basic computer skills; proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word is required.
• Compassionate, kind, engaging, and helpful demeanor.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and co-workers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with seniors with dementia, including participation in activities, is preferred.
• A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
• Assist, encourage, and provide restorative interventions to help Memory Care residents remain as independent as possible with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
• Serve residents during mealtime.
• Assist with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood.
• Ensure resident, family, and employee concerns receive timely responses and follow-up to support customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and co-workers.
