About The Position

Home Instead Braintree is seeking compassionate Care Assistants to support older people in their own homes in West Bergholt. The role focuses on providing warm, attentive care and companionship, helping clients with personal care and everyday tasks while supporting their wellbeing and independence. Evening shifts are available three or four nights per week; other shift patterns, including daytime and weekend shifts, may also be available. The company provides ongoing support, training, and opportunities for career development.

Requirements

• Be caring, warm-hearted, and compassionate.
• Be perceptive and responsive to changes in clients’ needs.
• Be a good listener, observant, positive, and passionate about helping others.
• Be willing to learn and develop knowledge or skills.
• Be reliable and dependable, able to multitask, and able to remain calm.
• Have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to provide care in clients’ homes across the service area.
• Have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Have a good grasp of English.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including washing, applying creams, and other hygiene tasks.
• Help with light housekeeping around clients’ homes.
• Assist with meal preparation.
• Provide companionship, such as reading with clients or watching their favourite shows.
• Give medication reminders and administer medication.
• Help clients get ready for the day or prepare for bed at night.
