About The Position

The Care Aide provides basic patient care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit specializing in cardiac and stroke care. Working under the delegation and supervision of an RN, the Care Aide supports patients with vital-sign monitoring, personal care, activities of daily living, and documentation, and helps maintain an orderly, well-stocked unit. This is a PRN position with night blocks only; the listed shift is 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly measuring blood glucose, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Help keep patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Maintain legible, accurate, and appropriate patient records, charts, and other documentation.
• Perform general support tasks, including stocking supplies, maintaining the unit environment, and clerical work.
