About The Position

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Care Aide for its fast-paced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, which specializes in cardiac and stroke care. The role provides basic patient care activities delegated and supervised by an RN. Team members work three 12-hour night shifts, with self-scheduling opportunities, cross-training in the Telemetry Technician role, and a collaborative team culture.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly measuring blood glucose, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Help keep patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Maintain patient records, charts, and other documentation in a legible, accurate, and appropriate format.
• Perform general support tasks, including stocking supplies, maintaining the unit environment, and clerical work.
